Support for non-government schools
On 29 April 2020, the Australian Government announced that non-government schools will have the option to bring forward their July 2020 recurrent school funding payments provided they have a plan to provide a level of education in a standard classroom setting, by 1 June 2020. This is in addition to financial assistance the government is making available to small and medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organisations to help with their cash flow. An email was sent directly to Approved Authorities to communicate these options. More information is available on SchoolsHUB Finance page.

National Principles for School Education response to COVID-19
On 16 April 2020, the National Cabinet met and agreed to a set of National Principles for School Education in response to COVID-19. These principles outline how schools can support the ongoing delivery of high quality education for all students during COVID-19 to enable students to progress through their year level and support a successful transition to 2021. Depending on how your approved authority’s financial arrangements are structured, you may be eligible for a range of support measures that have been announced by the Australian Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Support measures available include: • Boosting cash flow for employers • JobKeeper payment • Coronavirus Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Guarantee Scheme • Other support available to non-government schools • Temporary relief for financially distressed businesses More information on the COVID-19 support available for non-government schools may be found on the Using SchoolsHUB Finance page.
