Registration on this website results in automatic registration to both School Entry Point and Schools Service Point. These are portals to the Department of Education's School Education Management Information System, but provide access to different programs and are intended to apply to a different category of users. The terms and conditions of use for School Entry Point and Schools Service Point are the same. You agree, that if you do access School Entry Point or Schools Service Point, you will comply with the terms and conditions of use.
 

Terminology

In these terms and conditions the expressions "we", "us" and "our" are a reference to the Commonwealth of Australia as represented by the Department of Education. The expressions "you" and "your" are a reference to your organisation, its employees and agents.
 

Website Access

Access to the SchoolsHUB website will be through https://schools.education.gov.au/SchoolsHUB unless otherwise notified by us.

 

Security of Information

Unfortunately no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as totally secure. Whilst we strive to protect such information, we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you transmit to us. Accordingly any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk. Nevertheless once we receive your transmission we will take reasonable steps to preserve the security of such information. For those who do not wish to use the Internet, please contact the department.

Our internal network and databases are protected from unauthorised access using firewall and other technologies. To improve security of personal information, some electronic forms that collect this information have been secured under the HTTPS protocol (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure), a standard Web communications protocol that encrypts and decrypts a message for online transmission.

The Department of Education will assume that any transaction using your User id and Password was approved by you. Reasonable steps must be taken to ensure that your password is safe and secure and you must not permit others to use your account. You may cancel your access to at any time by contacting the Department.
 

The Data We Collect

E-mails and Electronic Forms

We will record your e-mail address for registration purposes. Your personal information will only be used for the purposes for which you have provided it. Your e-mail address will not be added to a mailing list, unless you have provided it to us in order to subscribe to one of our subscription services such as the department's Media Subscription Service.

The information collected by email or electronic forms will be used only for the purpose for which you provided it, and we will not disclose it without your consent, except where authorised or required by law.

 

Privacy

All personal information collected by the Department of Education through this Website is protected and collected in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. The Department of Education collects personal information including your name (title, first, last), date of birth, telephone number, fax number, mobile number, and email address when you register on SEP.

Your personal information is collected for the purpose of delivering and administering government programs.

Your personal information may be provided to Education Authorities, Block Grant Authorities, State and Territory Treasury and Education Departments, Government and non-Government Schools, or other independent organisations contracted to deliver and administer schools projects programs to:
 

  • contact you and respond to inquiries
  • report on projects and programs
  • organise events
  • view or make project and program payments.
