The Department is aware that a number of schools may be affected by the current flooding event in NSW, and recognises this may have an impact on their reporting in the upcoming Census. Given we are now currently in the Census reference period for NSW schools, the Department will work with any affected schools and make alternative arrangements for the Census where required. If any schools are concerned about how this event may affect their ability to report in the census, they should contact the Department on 1800 677 027 (option 3) to discuss their situation.
The Student Attendance (STATS) Collection is now open. Declare your data by Friday 5 August.

As was the case in 2021, the Department will closely monitor any effects COVID-19 has on schools in the lead-up to 2022 Census. If disruptions coincide with a significant portion of the Census Reference Period, the Department will work with affected schools and make alternative arrangements for the Census where required. Affected schools can contact us on 1800 677 027 (option 3)
